Bodegas Marañon is the outstanding producer for the Finca La Malena wines. A long time family business and tradition, the Marañons are committed to producing some of the finest wines for everyday consumption.
The family Marañón has been linked to the wine industry for three generations. In 1951, Amadeo Marañón, an ingenious entrepreneur, founded the company. His only daughter, Monica Marañón, was in charge of continuing the legacy, sharing with her father the great passion for wine.
Over the years, the visions and dreams of Don Amadeo continue to show his greatness. His son in law, Eduardo José Minetto, direct disciple of Amadeo, is the one who manages and decants the company´s solidity that our times demands. In his management Eduardo has lead Marañón to be one of the most reliable wine companies in Argentina.
At present, the incorporation of Pablo Minetto Marañón, grandson of Don Amadeo, symbolizes the continuation of the family tradition.
The winemakers are Luis Bertagna and Mario Lezcano
Bodegas y Vinedos Amadeo Marañón is distributed on 8 farms with 440 hectares planted with the finest grapes. The vineyards are located around the winery in Costa de Araujo over a radius of no more than 30 km.
Here in the eastern region of Mendoza you will find hotter summers than those whose vineyards are rising up into the Andes with sandy soils but lots of water from the continual water run-off from the Andes.
The agricultural engineer, Emilio Merlo and his team of workers, who work with endeavor and commitment to get grapes of high quality, are in charge of these hectares.
